About Our School
The current governors and staff follow a long history of Christian
education and witness at St. Luke’s. The school has a history
of providing high quality education in this deprived area of London.
'This is the best School in my district. The very large new
room is fast filling with scholars, whose order and attainment are
most creditable.’ (Curate’s Report 1866)
'The school is well organized and supervised.’ (1905)
Our current building was designed to provide for and equip our
pupils for the 21st century. We moved into our new building in 2000.
'A very positive ethos establishes pupils’ very good
behaviour and attitudes, which
supports effective learning’ (2006)
‘As pupils rightly say, almost everything about this school is outstanding and it succeeds exceptionally well in its published aim “to be a school where staff, pupils and parents want to be.” (2008)
St. Luke’s is within the Diocese of Chelmsford and works
in close partnership with the London Borough of Newham. Children
between the ages of 3 to 11 years now attend this one-form entry
Nursery sessions are now being offered in whole day blocks (2 funded sessions) and you can buy an additional 3 hour session at a price of £16.50 (charged at £5.50 per hour as against recommended £5.57 per hour).
