Easter Chick Egg-Watch

This spring, we began 'fostering' ten chicken eggs and we are all VERY EXCITED!

The eggs arrived Monday 24th April and the first crack appeared Wednesday 26th. By the morning of Thursday 27th, we had our first arrival!

Our first arrival!

2nd arrival!
Keeping the eggs warm

The first two are moved to their new home

Snoozing in their new home

Third arrival - exhausted!

Two more - and another on the way

We're growing bigger every day. We've just been on a big adventure to Reception and met the children there.

Now we're off to Y5 - Gulp!

Oh, this lot are much bigger than the last ones!

Our Christingle Service

This December we once again enjoyed our traditional Christingle Service

Remembrance Service
November 11th 2016

This 11th November, St. Luke's pupils joined together in a short service of Remembrance.
We learned about the origins of the Poppy, the wars that had been fought and paid our respects to those who had fought and died in conflicts around the globe with a two minutes silence. Afterwards we laid a wreath at our local memorial.

The Department of Education's guidance on 'Promoting Fundamental British Values in Schools, 2014' states that:

"Through their provision of SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social & Cultural), schools should:

Enable students to acquire a broad general knowledge of and respect for public institutions and services in England... encourage respect for other people...to further tolerance and harmony between different cultural traditions by enabling students to acquire an appreciation of and respect for their own and other cultures."
